“I've been doing this for a few years now and, being self-taught like yourself, never had taken a class before... I found it to be incredibly informative and interesting and I really enjoyed it a great deal. I had always admired your work on display at the Samy's in LA... it was a real privilege to meet the man behind the work, hear you speak about the craft, and see you in action as well.”

Seminar Overview

One of the ways for us to show the world what can be gained by attending a FotoFantasyCamp® workshop is what we display in The FotoFantasy Seminar. Open to any photographer (in numbers only restricted by the size of the venue) at any level of experience, we give them a taste of what a true FFC experience can be.

The day begins with an overview of all the equipment that David uses both in his professional work as well as his FotoFantasyCamps®. In the background, David’s team of professionals is preparing the set for a photo shoot as a makeup artist is working her magic on a model. You are literally backstage watching what it takes to do a pro-level photo shoot. Once the equipment demo is over, David introduces his team and talks about how he has worked throughout his career. He then provides the room with a slide show followed by a Q&A while he begins to light a set for his photo shoot. (Because of the large number of photographers attending, as well as the teaching curriculum we have created for our seminar, there can be no individual photo shoots by people in the audience. They are urged to take notes and photograph the sets.)

David will photograph the model then make a complete lighting change, shoot again, make another change, and then shoot again. In less than an hour he will show several different lighting set-ups while asking that you diagram or photograph each one for your notes. He also asks for your questions to be directed not only at him, but his makeup artist, assistants, his support sponsors, and the model in order to get a more complete view of what a shoot requires. After a break for lunch, everyone returns to enjoy an afternoon of Photoshop techniques given by Robert R. Sanders, FotoFantasyCamp®’s Photoshop instructor.

At the end of the day the final moments are reserved for a very fun event, a raffle. Items offered are from FFC’s support sponsors; including Hensel USA, Chimera Lighting, California Sunbounce Reflectors, Fuji Film and other Fuji products, Lightware cases, and signed prints from David.

Hosting a FotoFantasy Seminar

FotoFantasyCamp®'s FotoFantasy Seminar is a program that, beyond being very affordable to various photographers, brings with it a substantial amount of marketability for the retailer or photographic organization that wishes to promote it. Besides helping to produce a program that teaches, the support venue or organization will realize a substantial marketing and sales opportunity in the process.

We welcome your email should your organization or business wish to have one of our FFC representatives contact you about conducting an FotoFantasy Seminar at your location. We will supply you with our requirements as well as what we can offer to you to help promote the event, generate sales, and promote your business.
